Fox and CBS Lack Good "Condom Sense"

| June 19, 2007 - 4:49 pm

CBS and our favorite evil and cunning Fox refused to air a condom commercial. According to Planned Parenthood's activation about the rejection of the ad, "The goal of the ad was to "turn the "men are pigs" maxim on its head by suggesting that a guy willing to take responsibility for safer sex by using a condom isn't so bad. But the real controversy is coming from FOX and CBS, which have declined to run the ad, even in the late-night hours typically reserved for adult-oriented products like Viagra."

In response, Planned Parenthood is energizing its grassroots with its "Prevention First" message, calling out Fox and CBS for their hypocrisy. Both networks are home to TV shows that promote sex and run advertisements for erectile dysfunction ads. Why are they now unable to promote the prevention of unintended pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases on air?
