My next trip to NYC

When I first heard about the organization called Do Something, I found myself likening it to YP4 without a Progressive backbone. Much like my favorite youth-empowering org, Do Something encourages young people to get up and get moving. As some might say, their motto suggests that young people cannot just follow your dreams - it's important we chase after them!

At the end of June I hope to make a short trip to the Big Apple to join other over-achievers at the summer Do Something Not For Profit Boot Camp. I encourage all YP4 Fellows to check it out, especially if you'll already be in the area. Consider this an my invitation to the event and take a minute visit this website for details: <http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=WjSUHV%2B948KANOQuKX%2BLtJ%2BlLzYG3uiI>

Topics to be covered include understanding 501(c)3 status, the nature of sucessful fundraising, and sustainability in your line of advocacy. I know that many of us hope to start or work for an NGO/non-profit some day, so consider this a great opportunity to help map the course ahead.
