I was just in a presentation with amnesty International and i should say i was amazed at the professor who was presenting as I was amazed with the organization. What i loved about was the pragmatism she expressed in how Amnesty works. She spoke about women's rights, death penalty and what amnesty does in terms of upholding human rights. She also expressed an interested with business patnership and i was suprised because she argued the money was needed and amnesty also did receive money from Noway. The interesting thing was the fexibility in the means she said amnesty employed; both intellectual and practical. She argued that Amnesty actually took on a business footprint in the approach to their work; they maintained financial stability and leveraged their position in the international world to work with businessm, to name a few--- they recently worked with Reebok!

The tactics have changed and NGOs are just as aggressive as if their work had profits associated with them. It is interesting.
