The YP4 Tribal College Road Trip

YP4 is on the road!  Kevin Killer and I are heading down to Lawton, OK tonight to lend some fellow support for 08 fellow Maya Torralba's Native vote outreach.  Throughout the rest of the week we will be meeting with administrators, teachers and students at Commanche Nation College, Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College and Pawnee Nation College in Oklahoma.

The YP4 tribal college recruiting road trip began last week on Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota where I met with our Oglala Lakota College fellows, community leaders and college administrators.  Kevin and I headed south from Pine Ridge, SD to Lawrence, Kansas yesterday to meet with the president and vice president of Haskell Indian Nations University to discuss how YP4 can serve their students and for their thoughts on expanding our tribal college network.

We don't have much computer access this week, so more detailed blog posts will come later in the week.  We hope you will journey with us as we travel through the Great Plains, engage with Native communities and work to build out the YP4 tribal college network.

Peace!

Sophia and Kevin
