What has politics come to?
This has been a memorable week for both the major parties in the country, and for myself. I was a witness to history as Barack Obama accepted the Democratic Presidential nomination in front of over 80,000 people at Invesco Field in Denver, Colorado. To be one of those people in the audience is a lifelong memory.
Less than 24 hours after Barack Obama made a compelling speech accepting his nomination, John McCain pulls his card and announces Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did that come from? Some say that was a left field move, others say it was a good move, bad move, mediocre move.
You want my opinion?
This election has been purely nothing but mind games, psychology, and of course politics.
In what was a very smart move, John McCain cooled down what fire Barack and the Democratic party had by announcing his pick for VP less than 24 hours after what will arguably be known as Barack Obama's greatest speech to date.
However, that's where the genius part of his plan comes to a screeching and sudden end.
John McCain has decided to bring on board a 44 year old "soccer mom" with almost as little experience as they claim Obama doesn't have. If that's not the biggest form of irony and flip-flopping, I don't know what is.
Of course, she has more executive experience than Obama does, but she's nowhere near Joe Biden's level. Of course, most people have forgotten that side of this thing because the focus has been to make Obama look as bad as possible, but in all honesty, it's slowly but steadily coming back to bite them in the dereire, or however you spell that.
In less than 7 days, Sarah Palin has honestly done more damage indirectly to the Republican party than she realizes. She obviously can't keep control of her daughter, since she's knocked up and getting married at 17. How's that for her views on abstinence. She seems to have vendettas with people and gets rid of them when they do harm to people although they're doing their jobs. Just ask her former brother-in-law.
Her personal issues single handedly contracict everything the Republican Party stands for. As if that's not enough, she sounded not confident when she was announced last week and she just kept rambling during her acceptance at the RNC last night. Comparing soccer moms to pitbulls only soccer moms wear lipstick, yea, Sarah, you are a pitbull.
You describe yourself and other Republicans very well. Here's another comparison to pitbulls to Republicans. Both of them bite, and what's similar between them is that when they both bite, they don't realize the results of their actions. Just look at the last 8 years and prove me wrong.
I'll be back with the next installment soon.
