Hello to all readers in all languages,

So it seems that there has been a devastating attack and hijack in Mumbai. Many of my friends are dismayed and trying to collect information about their families and friends in Mumbai and nearby, so far reports received, they are safe. Yet I wonder about those who are not? Many things are coming to mind about and topics are conjured among many of the students in my high school, my volunteer organization and at home.

Some of you may know that there has been a great history between Pakistan and India, and let's just say it has not always been a friendly one. A stalemate-ish relationship would be more qualifying. So imagine being from both countries. Both of my grandmothers (paternal and maternal) are from northern India, and roots/families are distributed. Yet I don't know my family considers me more from Pakistan, because my paternal family lives there and we are more in contact with them. But it depresses me because I do have my family there, yet not in close contact.

My heart calls out to all those victims because I really don't know it could have happened to any my family and I would never know. But this raises the ocnflict back into position, India vs. Pakistan. All over again. The so-called Islamic mujahideen(sp.) that have attacked the Taj Hotel are putting in a bad name for Muslims and seriously come on?! Being a Muslim (sorry a little pride here) is a beautiful thing and there are many people out there who give it a bad name that destroys its attraction, its respect. It seems it has been happening lately ever since 9/11. So Indians are assuming its the Pakis who have attacked their beloved land, and Pakis are readying up for any attacks the supposed Indians may launch. It seems that we NEVER learn.

*I will be doing a call out to the world now* DUDES and DUDETTES, when are we ever going to freaking LEARN that WE are the same f-%*$ing RACE and um i don't know, that you are taking a life from ONE OF YOUR DAMN OWN? *end call out* So putting that aside I think it is important that besides Indians and Pakistanis, all of us need to remain in a position that we need to help others. With the economy plunging, natural disasters hitting us one after another, for the need to survive we need to help each other, for the better future. Yea it seems pretty far away, but the worse future would come even faster if we don't act now. During these types of times, it is important not to discriminate.

Regards,

Saba
