Storm the Hill, Act for the Dream" National DREAM Act Graduation June 23rd in DC
On Tuesday June 23, 2009 United We Dream coalition members will be holding graduation ceremonies from coast to coast. The main event will be in Washington D.C., with solidarity events taking place all across the country.
We expect over 500 students to attend the national graduation....WE will be having a mock gradution and we will be doing Legislative visits .
Below please find a listing of all of those events and how you can partake in them:
(If you are in New York, register with NYSYLC --there are 5 buses leaving from NY and seats are free)
California:
- Dream Team Los Angeles:
June 23, 2009
11:30 am- 2 pm.
In front of the Los Angeles City Hall
Program includes a short rally, followed by a symbolic graduation ceremony and a call-in action.

- Orange County Dream Team:

North Carolina:
- The Coalition for College Access(C4CA) and Adelante Education Coalition will be hosting a mock graduation outside of Sen. Kay Hagan’s office at 5PM in Greensboro ( 701 Green Valley Rd; Suite 201, Greensboro, NC 27408) on June 23rd. To attend please register HERE and you will be contacted with details.
New Jersey:
- Waiting for confirmation, information will be posted as soon as it is available. To attend please register HERE and you will be contacted with details.
New York:
- No local event scheduled yet, however about 250 students will be bussed to D.C. event. If you would like to ride down from NY register with the Youth Leadership Counsel HERE.
On Wednesday, June 17th at noon, the New York State Youth Leadership Council will announce its upcoming plan to organize 200 students/youth and educators from NY for a Dream Act Graduation in Washington DC students on June 23rd.

Where: Outside of the CUNY Welcome Center, 1114 Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave) & W. 42nd Street
Who: New York State Youth Leadership Council, PSC CUNY, YKASEC, and other Allies (list in formation); students, youth and educators

Arizona:
- A local event will be hosted by CADENA and students at Arizona State University, details to follow shortly. To attend please register HERE and you will be contacted with details.
Wisconsin:
- No local event scheduled yet, however students from Voces de la Frontera will be riding a bus down to D.C. event. If you are in Wisconsin and would like to attend please register HERE and info will be sent to you.
Florida:
- No local event scheduled yet, however students from SWER (Students Working for Equal Rights). Space is limited right now so if you would like to attend from FL please register HERE and you will be contacted with additional information.
Colorado:
- Colorado WILL be hosting an event, details to follow shortly. To attend please register HERE and you will be contacted with details.
Texas:
- The University Leadership Initiative (ULI) will be bringing students to the National D.C. Graduation, if you would like to participate please contact them or register HERE and you will be contacted.
- The Houston DREAM Act Coalition is also holding a solidarity event. Location:Mason Park Time:3:30PM Tuesday, June 23rd
Indiana:
- The Indiana Youth Collective will be hosting an event, details to follow shortly. To attend please register HERE and you will be contacted with details.

Then either donate some funds here or find and donate caps and gowns to NILC - 1444 Eye St. NW, Suite 1110, Washington D.C. 20005.
We expect at least 500 students to show up for the D.C. graduation alone and so every little bit will help!
