Ask Speaker Pelosi a question! Yes, you.
The progressive bloggers conference Netroots Nation (formerly known as YearlyKos) is coming up in Austin next week. Maybe you're going — members of the YP4 Blog Team are — or maybe you're not. Either way, here's your opportunity to ask Speaker Nancy Pelosi your most burning questions.

Hoyer Hogs the Media

I know I have already ranted about this a little, but I was encouraged by last week's vote for majority leader in the House of Representatives.
The media of course blew the Democratic vote totally out of proportion, especially when you consider that Senate Republicans held a 25-24 vote just a day earlier to reinstate an old leader who was previously kicked out of the leadership for racially-insensitive remarks.
However, as I flipped through the Sunday news, I was baffled by this story. It seems to me that Steny Hoyer is trying to capitalize on last week's House vote. Hoyer publicly asked Pelosi not to punish people for supporting him whenever she hands out committee assignments, though there's been no indication on Pelosi's part that that is her intention.

Newt attacks Nancy
Newt Gingrich says that Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House "would be a disaster."
With Republican leadership ushering in record deficits, climbing poverty and unemployment rates, and an unjustified war, I can see how Newt is afraid Speaker Pelosi might steer the country in the wrong direction.
Chris Shays Revises Position on Iraq
Republican Chris Shays of Connecticut called for a timetable for withdrawal in Iraq. Shays, who has been to Iraq 14 times, recently stated that "to have a timetable is absolutely foolish." Shays says he changed his mind after realizing he will probably be crushed in his re-election efforts this November.
