Is the End of Black Politics Near?????
One Way to Solve the Energy Crisis: Living Liberally
However, as it turns out inflating your tires will actually save you more money in the next year than offshore drilling will save you in the next twenty. How much more? DOUBLE! Bill continues:![]()
On Thursday, conservative radio host Sean Hannity claimed Obama said, "All you need to do is inflate your tires. That's all you need to do. If every American would join in this effort, of inflating one's tires, then it's all going to be fine. And we can still import 70% of our oil from Saudi Arabia. Just keep those tires inflated."
Conservatives -- lovers of childish mockery over substantive ideas -- later today are apparently planning to distribute tire gauges at an Obama energy event.
Barack the Rap Game!
So the Young Communist League has this awesome song on their website dedicated to the movement surrounding Barack Obama...
The song titled "Will of the People" was created by artists/members of the Philly Club of Young Communist League.
...this is a change I could get used to.
Captain of Swift-boaters sails on wind.
I'm torn. I really am. I thought I could think about T.Boone Pickens as an unambiguous dick. Pickens, a life-long republican, put 3 million dollars into the verb-creating, candidate destroying Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. He then offered a 1 million dollar award to anyone who could disprove their claims. This happened. He changed his mind.

The fall of the house of Nader

From wikipedia "In its December 2006 article on the "100 most influential Americans"
in history, in which its ten invited historians voted Nader 96th, The Atlantic Monthly stated: "He made the cars we drive safer; thirty years later, he made George W. Bush the president."[70]"
Seeing Myself in the Next U.S. President
In today's issue of the New York Times was an article, "Obama Goes One on One, Battling 'Just a Speechmaker' Label" (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/15/us/politics/15campaign.html). The article goes on to discuss Obama's goal of interacting with voters on a more intimate level. As I reflected on the content, I thought about the reasons behind the shift. Why do we, as active voters, exercise our right the way we do?

Obama Greet Filipinos on Philippine Independence Day
Chicago, IL -- Senator Obama released the following statement today on Philippine Independence Day.
"After hundreds of years of struggle for independence, the Filipino people declared their independence from Spain on June 12, 1898, and the first Philippine republic was born.
"The Philippines has been a staunch partner of the United States through the
Cold War and the war against terrorism. In part because of our shared
history, we cannot ignore the fact that the Philippines continues to
confront many difficult challenges, including persistent poverty, natural
disasters, and political division. But as a nation rich in natural and human
resources, with a proud legacy as the first democracy in Asia, the
Philippines also holds great opportunities and hope for the future. An
Hillary Clinton's Constituents and Why Barack Obama Probably Won't Get Them
Hillary Clinton has two constituent groups whose votes I believe Barack Obama will not get, working class women and Hispanics. Working class women were drawn to Hillary because Hillary shares with them their class upbringing and their gender perspective. Women across America know about the glass ceiling because so many of them work very hard, are overqualified for promotions that they deserve and apply for and yet they are passed by for a guy less experienced and qualified than they are. They see themselves in the mirror of Hillary Clinton.
Obama's Call to Public Service
Senator Obama stood in for Senator Kennedy earlier today and called graduates of Wesleyan University to lead lives in service of others:

Did the primary end without anybody noticing?
Poor Democrats. The race to Denver goes on and on, and you can tell they're getting a bit tired and cranky. Not to mention that once they're done, it's time for the election! There's no time for naps in politics (just ask Fred Thompson).
But is it possible maybe we've been dreaming these long months since Iowa and New Hampshire? Could we already be done? It might just be so, if a few staticians are to be believed.
