Taking out the Trash

A little over two weeks ago the Department of Education released a study which found that public school students perform as well or better than private school students.

The report was released on a Friday in July, a political tactic West Wing fans will recognize as "taking out the trash." When the government is embarrassed about something, they release the news when no one is paying attention.

You may remember the Inspector General's report on commentator Armstrong Williams, who was paid a hefty sum by the DoE to shill for Bush's education policies without disclosing it. You don't remember? That report was released on a Friday too.

It's Dark, and DC is Hot

It may be stormy, but things never cool off here in DC in the summer.

Congress is in recess, but they're giving us plenty to work on.
