Hello YP4 Fellows!
Today – United We Dream hosts coordinated campaign events in cities across our nation in support of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. Over 100 actions have been organized by student groups, local, state and national organizations as part of the National Back to School DREAM Day of Action.
In less than 48 hours, a student will be separated from his family, friends, and what he has called home for the past 9 years to a place he knows little of. Jorge Alonso Chehade, born in Peru and brought to the U.S. at the age of 14 will be deported come September 24th if he doesn’t get the support he needs.
So the story goes like this; This past May the Arkansas' Department of Higher Education (ADHE) send out a letter to all the chancellors and presidents of all college and Universities across the state.
