The COOOLLLLDD!

I am so cold.  Currently, it is 20 below, and I am freezing.  Oh yeah, I'm in Chicago. However, my mind wanders to the millions of  people without a coat, hat, or gloves. Some people do not have a suitable place to lay their head.  This breaks my heart.  Sometimes, I complain about the smoldering heat in my apartment.  However, there are people who desperately need heat.  You know what, I should not complain about the weather.  Yes, it's cold, but at least I have a place of refuge.  I should think about others, and count my blessings.  I have to remind myself to do that, because I find myself wallowing in my own self pity.

Howdy,

My name is Ashley Cureton.  I am from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. I am a third year student, and an Anthropology major, with a minor in Coummunity Service Studies and Social Justice/Peace Resolution studies.  Okay, so that is the basic information.  Furthermore, I am so excited about the Young People For program.  Prior to this visit, I was unsure about the program, but I am well informed about its missions.  I am ready to implement the blueprint unto my campus. Thank you for this experience.  Have fun!
