A Foundation for Youth
Creating Your Vision
What is your vision for the campus and/or community?
We believe that young people have the power to make change in their communities. Our vision is that every young person has access to the knowledge, tools and resources to engage their families, friends, classmates, and neighbors in the progressive movement. Education is a crucial tool to make our vision a reality. We envision a country where everyone, no matter his or her immigration status, no matter his or her socio-economic status, has the right to access education free of cost.
Assessing Your Campus and Community
What campus/community problem does your blueprint address? What structures, practices and policies institutionalize the problem?
The structure of policies and practices create unjust barriers for the immigrant community. We are particularly concerned with the barriers presented in pursing higher education.
There are a variety of confusion, misunderstanding and lack of awareness of the legal system for undocumented students. Leading to believe that to earn a College Degree is unthinkable. The lack of education quality and the inequality among students, lead teachers and college advisers to pasar por alto. Such as having policies supporting the exclusion of students with greater needs, i.e. after-schools support programs.
Financial aid is one of the most important requirements to be filled to apply for college. The college application process and eligibility for scholarships are limited for undocumented students and lacks their wiliness to continue their education.
What communities will you work with?
- Campus community

What is your primary approach?
Why did you choose this approach?
Our approach of using workshops, is a good strategy to inform our target audience and help them in the area they most need help and support. A workshop can be as informative and fun for students to learn things they will find boring when taught in class.
Connecting Back to Vision
How does your strategy contribute to your vision for your campus and/or your community?
Our strategy of hosting different workshops will contribute to our vision in many possible ways. Through these workshops, we will educate and empower youth. We will give them a better opportunity to access higher education and give them the support to have an impact in society and in their community.
Resources and skills you will need
What skills do you need for this approach?
As we progress in our Blueprint, we will be in need of various skill approaches all in different aspects of the Blueprint. We will also need verbal, meeting, outreach, writing, vocal, fundraising skills support.
