Kevin Killer used his 2006 Young People For (YP4) fellowship to educate people on his reservation about a ballot initiative that would have banned civil unions.
Coming from an area with 70 to 80 percent unemployment, he's now a trainer with Campus Camp Wellstone and has been elected President of the YP4 Network.

Organizers for the second annual Michigan Policy Summit announced today that popular political activist and author Jim Hightower - dubbed the nation's No. 1 populist - and top journalist and radio commentator Amy Goodman will be the featured speakers at the summit on Saturday, May 10 in Lansing. Young People For will be tabling all day at the Summit.
The event, which this year has the theme "Rebuilding Michigan," is being organized by Michigan's progressive community and will be held at the Lansing Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The press and the public are invited to attend.
