My Day

I thought that I should at the most write about something that actually made my day rather than what was happening in politics or financial markets.  I pulled an all nighter last night when I was at school and when I went home this morning to go change I came back to the school at around 11 am. As I was waiting for the six train, I decided to get some Vitamin Water and the guy, in the stand on 116th street said, “Hey you are late? I was confused, and wondered why he was saying that and when he saw my face he immediately followed it by, “well, you usually get on the 7am train”

All this time this guy was only the dude I got the morning paper and water from, not knowing that he actually knew who I was and was genuinely interested in the fact that he saw that I wasn’t at the train station at my usual time. I know New York City is a very difficult place, but I don’t think it is that bad and the New Yorker has a heart!!!!! All this week  I worked on essays, regression analysis, I finished all my projects and got accepted into the CUNY PIPELINE Fellowship, but  he made my day more than any of the things I have accomplishe this week. This was my day!

From one New Yorker to another...

Sometimes it's those little moments of connection that really make your day. Or make you feel unexpectedly conspicuous, but it sounds as though your experience was more positive than that. :)

(And just so you know, your entries about financial markets were specifically praised during last week's Blog Team conference call.)
