AFSC hosts an Iraq Awareness day with the "die-in" event. This event takes place in front of the Federal Plaza building and serves to represent the Iraqi lives lost due to the Iraq War. Here are the details of the die-in:

The Dawn of a New Day

The twelfth annual National Black Religious Summit on Sexuality will be held July 9-11, 2008 at the Howard University School of Divinity. This year’s theme is “The Dawn of a New Day, ” which is so appropriate during an election year when we have heard so much about change from the political parties. In the National Black Church Initiative, all that we have done throughout the past twelve years has prepared us to make major changes within our churches relating to issues of sexuality.

Hi YP4 Fellows,

All of you are interested in international, economic justice
and/or community development issues. As such, you might also be interested in
learning more about microfinance and Kiva (www.kiva.org). Kiva is the world's
first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend
directly to unique entrepreneurs in the developing world.

As a 2006 YP4 fellow, I want to introduce you to the
microfinance project that I need your help launching. If this field is
something you are at all interested in, I hope you will consider joining me for
a conference call to learn more about how you can help.
