Arthur Chan is hoping to fuse his passion for media with social issues. He is currently in his first year at the University of Michigan Law School, where he hopes to study entertainment and intellectual property law.

He spent the last year in New York as the Assistant Producer on comedian Mike Birbiglia's off-Broadway one-man show, "Sleepwalk With Me" in New York City. The play earned 2009 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel Award nominations. The New York Times deemed it a Critic's Pick and New York Magazine included the play in its "Best of '08" issue.

While in New York, he served as Associate Producer on a reading of "The Way of the Language," a dramatic staging of found text of the War on Terror, presented by the Painted Filly Theatre Company of Dublin, Ireland.

As part of a YP4 Blueprint for Social Justice, Arthur documented footage about A Second Chance, a Phnom Penh-based NGO started by Cambodian returnees (deported from the US in the wake of the Patriot Act) to help other returnees adjust to life back in Cambodia through working with children in the slums near Boeng Kaek Lake.

Arthur has interned with the United Talent Agency in Los Angeles, Juvenile Public Defender's Office in San Francisco, and conducted research on education reform in Washington, DC. He also freelances as a graphic designer.

Arthur graduated from Georgetown University in May 2007 with a degree in International Politics. He completed his MA in Contemporary Migration and Diaspora Studies at University College Cork as a George J. Mitchell Scholar.
