The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Arthur is a filmmaker committed to producing socially conscious media. He is currently in pre-production on a promotional video for Friends Help Friends for Development, a youth-run NGO based in rural Cambodia that provides peer mentoring and supplementary education to encourage rural youth to attend college.
He is in Ireland pursuing an MA in Contemporary Migration and Diaspora Studies at University College Cork as a George J. Mitchell Scholar. He graduated from Georgetown University in May 2007 with a degree in International Politics.
Arthur has interned with the United Talent Agency in Los Angeles, Juvenile Public Defender's Office in San Francisco, and served as the President of the Chinese Student Alliance at Georgetown. He also freelances as a graphic designer and salsa dancer.
