Kevin Killer used his 2006 Young People For (YP4) fellowship to educate people on his reservation about a ballot initiative that would have banned civil unions.
Coming from an area with 70 to 80 percent unemployment, he's now a trainer with Campus Camp Wellstone and has been elected President of the YP4 Network.

As an undergraduate, April Joy has served as founder and program manager for South of Market (SoMa) Scholars, a one-on-one mentorship program matching college students with low-income adolescents of color. She has also worked tirelessly to understand and address the health concerns facing low-income people and communities of color, as is evident in her previously held positions with local NGOs and federal government agencies. April Joy is determined to become a health care professional and apply her personal and professional experiences to addressing heart disease and diabetes among Filipinos.
