The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Allison is a senior at New York University studying Metropolitan Studies and Environmental Studies. During the spring semester, she will be the Social Responsibility Intern at ABC Home. Allison is extremely active in NYU’s Fraternity and Sorority Life and last year served as VP-Programming of Delta Phi Epsilon and as Event Coordinator of Greek Week. Through an internship with Kopali Organics, Allison developed a passion for developing the sustainable food market, which she hopes to further as a Young People For fellow. By motivating her community to make ethically conscious purchases, she hopes to cultivate environmental awareness and inspire a collective positive impact on the planet.
