The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

I'm constantly on a quest for knowledge and understanding of the world around me. My birth-given name is Brenda. However, everyone calls me Kidd and I prefer the gender neutrality of it. I'm currently a student at Middle Tennessee State University, double majoring in Anthropology and Global Studies and double minoring in Feminist Studies and Foreign Language. Human Rights activism and Women's Rights are my passions. I'm the Urgent Action coordinator for Amnesty International MTSU and I also work with various non-profit organizations in Tennessee and Florida.
Mother Nature is my love. I enjoy kayaking, canoes, camping, sky diving, hang-gliding, outdoor sports, hiking, and so on. =D
