The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Aaron is currently involved with student campus groups that are related to presidential candidates. The most important issue for Aaron is ensuring that every student on every campus be given the opportunity and a platform for their voice to be heard. He hopes to show students in community colleges that their experiences within their communities are important too. Aaron believes it is up to us as young people to take the responsibility to educate other youth and share these experiences in order to empower them to have their own experience, share that with someone else, and ultimately make all young people feel that they are a part of something.
