The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Arianna is the coordinator of Mediation and Motivation Among Peers (MMAP). MMAP is a mentoring program that links college students with youth in a juvenile detention facility to foster skills in conflict resolution and communication, creative expression and self esteem. Arianna also co-coordinates the Human Rights Club, which fosters connections with grassroots groups abroad and anti-genocide advocacy groups in the United States. She believes that combining these efforts allows her to apply her local social justice work within a global framework. She tries to focus on the lived experience of activism.
