Beverly is a former University of Illinois Division I swimmer and a senior double majoring in Political Science and Gender and Women Studies. She is extremely passionate about politics, having worked on several campaigns on the local, state, and national level including Barack Obama's senatorial campaign and Hillary Clinton's campaign for the White House. She spent the past summer in D.C. as a student activist with Greenpeace, where she lobbied Congress to sign on to the Safe Climate Act and traveled to Slovakia to protest the development of a Uranium mine. Currently she is the head organizer for Allies for a Women's Center, an organization on campus pushing for equality for women and allies through a physical safe space to provide counseling, sexual health services, education, and other unique services.
