The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

As a member of the Clean Energy Revolving Fund and Presidential Campus Climate Commitment Committee, Chloe has worked to plan and implement sustainable living on campus and in her community. She founded an open and democratic literary magazine that gives all members an opportunity to participate in every step of the process and encourages artistic community. She hopes to work in public health and wants to help improve health care access in her community.
