The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

This southern firecracker hails from Chattanooga, Tenn., and currently serves as the chair of the College Democrats of America Women's Caucus, where she is spearheading the launch of their second "ABCs of HPV" activism initiative. She most recently worked at the AFL-CIO Alliance for Retired Americans, doing Medicare and Social Security outreach. She has worked on multiple progressive democratic campaigns and is studying political science and women's studies at George Washington University. She is thrilled to work with YP4 to mobilize student activists across the country toward an HPV vaccine that will be accessible to all women.
