The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

For the past eight years, Eddie has successfully run his own company, Furtherbound ENT, which uses entertainment such as film, music and benefit shows to increase social awareness. He has also worked for the Fresno Rescue Mission, a food service provider for the homeless. With the support of YP4, Eddie hopes to create an atmosphere of change, progress and purpose on his campus and in his community. He expects to spread diversity, empowerment, opportunity and justice on his campus and in his community through coalition activity and films such as the documentary he is currently working on, "G-Street: Life on Skid Row."
