The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Kevin has been active in electoral politics, holding the position of district treasurer. He is currently in the process of starting his own non-profit organization. Kevin has worked as a Field Organizer for US Senate Minority Leader Thomas Daschle and served as a Canvasser for The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Kevin is also the President of the Pine Ridge Student Organization in South Dakota.
Post-Summit Goal: To continue working on election protection for the Native American population, specifically those Native Americans that live on reservations.
