Since November 2, 2004, Matthew's testimony before Congress and efforts concerning election reform have been featured in media outlets that include ABC, the BBC, C-SPAN, the Discovery Channel, the Washington Post and Scripps Howard. He also spoke alongside Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2005 to help endorse "Count Every Vote" legislation. Matthew is the founder and president of the Kenyon College Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and director of the Center on Voting Rights. He is a senior fellow with the Roosevelt Institution and was just appointed the national coordinator of their Making Democracy Work challenge. He has worked as a legislative assistant at the federal and legislative arm of the NAACP in Washington, D.C., and recently channeled his research into a student-led nonprofit organization committed to removing access barriers.
