The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Kyle is the president of FSU's Equality Alliance, vice president of Proud of Who We Are, vice chair of the College Democrat GLBT Caucus and a blogger at blogACTIVE.com. He spends his time as a ball of energy bouncing from project to project hoping to inspire change in every community. The project that is closest to his heart is the formation of a Human Rights Ordinance that would ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in his county.
