The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Ray is a Navajo, Blackfoot and Eskimo Native American and is a freshman attending the Blackfeet Community College on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browing, Mont. He currently serves as the youth representative for the Blackfeet Po'ka ("systems of care") Project. He hopes to organize a youth tribal council in order to focus the acting tribal council's attention and efforts on social issues faced by the youth in his community. He wants to change the world through his culture and self-determination. He hopes to bring back from the Summit the knowledge and resources to fix the issues that are very much alive on Indian reservations.
