The gentrification of the Mission District brought a "gang list" that affected young people in a 60-block radius, limiting their freedom of movement and association. Vicente Garcia used his 2007 Young People For fellowship to organize the community to stop the gang list.

Sable is President of the Howard University Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Fulfilling the platform of servant leadership, she has worked with a number of community and campus organizations to increase political and social justice participation throughout her four years at Howard. After the Summit, she hopes to educate and empower individuals or organizations regarding HIV/AIDS and the related social justice policy issues which effect college students, minorities and women.
